Keighley Area Bus Service Changes - Sunday 29th April 2012

Following a recent review of local bus services undertaken by West Yorkshire PTE (Metro), some major changes will be made to times and routes from Sunday 29th April.

Changes to Services 66/66A - Keighley & Skipton via Cross Hills
The times of buses will change during the day on Mondays to Saturdays, with many journeys leaving Keighley 10 minutes later and leaving Skipton up to 12 minutes later, so please check the timetable carefully.

From Sunday 29th April, for journeys wholly or partly in North Yorkshire, fares for young people will be revised, with the young person's fare being set at 2/3 of the Adult fare, rounded down to the nearest 5p. Young people will still need to show suitable ID (eg Young Person's Saver Card) to obtain the discounted fare.

Adult Silver tickets issued by Transdev Burnley & Pendle and Transdev Lancashire United will be valid on services 66/66A between Keighley and Skipton from 29th April. Silver tickets are valid throughout on Transdev Burnley & Pendle's Mainline services and on Lancashire United's X80/280 services.

A further change was made from 1st May, with the Monday to Friday journey on route 66 from Keighley to Skipton extended beyond Skipton Bus Station to serve Skipton schools. As a result, the 0835 journey has been re-timed to depart Skipton Bus Station at 0840, then at all subsequent stops running 5 minutes later than the tie shown in our printed timetable.

Changes to Services 500/663/664/665 - Keighley & Oxenhope/Hebden Bridge/Stanbury/Oakworth
All journeys between Keighley, Haworth and Oxenhope will run as service 500; service number 663 will no longer be used.

On Monday to Saturday mornings new journeys on service 500 will run at 0810 from Keighley to Hebden Bridge, returning at 0910 from Hebden Bridge to Keighley.

The timetable for service 500 will be revised to improve reliability, with most buses arriving in Hebden Bridge a few  minutes later.

Buses on service 665 on Sunday evenings will return from Oakworth to Keighley as service 717 via Exley Head and Oakworth Road.

Sunday evening journeys between Keighley, Haworth and Oxenhope will be withdrawn due to low usage.

Changes to Services 704/705 - Keighley & Thwaites Brow
All buses will run as route 705, with a new timetable introduced.

During the day on Mondays to Saturdays buses between Keighley, Parkwood Flats and Thwaites Brow will run every 30 minutes.

On Monday to Saturday evenings and throughout the day on Sundays buses will still run hourly, but at revised times, so please check the new timetable carefully.

Changes to Service 706 - Keighley & Fell Lane
On Monday to Saturday evenings the timetable will change, with buses running 5 minutes earlier.

On Sundays the service will start earlier, with buses running 5 minutes earlier, but will finish late afternoon. Sunday evening journeys will be withdrawn due to low usage.

Changes to Service 710 - Keighley & Laycock
Buses will still run every 30 minutes between Keighley and Laycock on Mondays to Saturdays, but on Monday to Friday afternoons the journeys between Keighley and Black Hill will be withdrawn.

Early evening journeys on Mondays to Saturdays and all journeys on Sundays will run at revised times.

Late evening journeys on all days of the week will be withdrawn due to low usage.

Changes to Service 717 - Keighley & Oakworth
On Monday to Saturday evenings the timetable will change, with buses running hourly. A later evening journey will be provided between Keighley and Oakworth.

On Sundays the timetable will change, with most journeys running at different times, about 30 minutes later. The Sunday evening service finishes slightly earlier. Sunday evening journeys return from Oakworth to Keighley as service 665 via Haworth.

Service 719 - Keighley & Bracken Bank
New journeys will be introduced on Monday to Saturday evenings between Ingrow (Kilmeny Surgery) and Keighley.

On Sundays the daytime timetable will change, with buses running 5 minutes earlier.

Service 720 - Keighley & Oxenhope via Oakworth
A new timetable will be introduced to better reflect usage of this service.

During the day on Mondays to Saturdays buses will run between Keighley, Ingrow and Oakworth (Windsor Road), extending to Haworth and Oxenhope at peak times on Mondays to Fridays only.

All Sunday journeys, which have been lightly used, will be withdrawn.

New service 721 will provide a small number of additional journeys between Oxenhope, Ingrow and Keighley.

Service 760 - Keighley & Leeds via Shipley, Greengates
Minor changes will be made to times of buses at some stops, on all days of the week, to improve reliability.

Services 762/765 - Keighley & Ilkley via Silsden, Addingham
The timetable during the day on Mondays to Saturdays will be revised, with buses still running every 30 minutes between Keighley, Silsden, Addingham and Ilkley, but at different times, offering improved connections at Ilkley Rail Station.

On Mondays to Fridays a new journey will run from Ilkley to Keighley, leaving Ilkley Rail Station at 0732.

Evening journeys from Ikley on all days of the week will depart a few minutes later.

Changes to other services
Customers are advised that from Sunday 29th April 2012, Transdev in Keighley will no longer be the operator
of the following bus services:
 

Please note that from that date Transdev in Keighley KDay, KZone, KCard & KCard Extra tickets
will no longer be valid on these services.
