Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a Superhero bus driver!08-03-2017
Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, or Spiderman…everyone has their favourite comic book hero!
Here at The Keighley Bus Company, we're holding a very special event - Superhero Day is taking place on Friday 10 March. Our drivers will be leaping into action to become their chosen superhero in a day of fun and fundraising to support real-life heroes, by donating the money to the military charity Help for Heroes.
Our CEO, Alex Hornby said: “Our amazing people chose to support the Help for Heroes charity themselves at the start of this year, and Superhero Day is only the beginning of a whole calendar of fun events to support this great cause throughout 2017.
“Our staff will donate a minimum of £1 each to dress up as their favourite superhero on the day. There'll also be bus-themed goodies to win, and plenty of chances for the thousands of people who travel with us on the day to drop a donation into our buckets on the buses.
“Of course this is really all about helping the real heroes who are living with injuries and illness sustained while serving in Britain's armed forces. They're our heroes and we're sure our customers will want to help us to make this very special day a big success.”
Help for Heroes supports those, who have given so much for their country, to lead active, independent and fulfilling lives, whatever their injury.
The charity's specialist teams focus on five key areas – medical, mind, body, spirit and family – and provide support to whole families to rebuild their lives.
David McNeill, Head of Recovery North, said he was immensely grateful that we had chosen Help for Heroes as our Charity of the Year 2017.
“We pledge to support our wounded, injured and sick heroes for life and can only do this with the generosity of companies like Transdev and the great British public!” David added.
Keep a lookout for your Superhero bus drivers on Friday 10 March - and don't forget to tweet us @keighleybus if you spot them!
